naughty but nice

catching up on publishing some old entries i hadnt put up (after theyve been here a couple weeks ill archive them in their proper dates):

craig is an MC and promoter. he hires a venue (in this case a small bar out in east london that is getting like no business), and gets a DJ, and passes out flyers to get people to come out. then he charges admission at the door and the bar gets the money from the drinks. hes hosting this place every sat in feb. sat nite was his first nite doing it and so kristie and i went down there to hang out. the place was pretty tiny, very limited seating, and everyone there looked like they were 16!! (i know they had to be 18 to get in and the ave age was prob like 20, but they all looked so young!). kristie and i nabbed a cushy leather couch and the two of us just hung out and talked. craig stopped by every once in awhile and even brought us each a drink. poor sarah had to spend the whole night at the door charging the admission so we didnt see much of her. in the last hour of it james showed up, in all his usual grumpy glory, and he sat with us a tiny bit. kristie went home cause she didnt like the music (it was all garage and house mixes) and i stayed behind with craig and sarah. craig drove us all home, and on the way we went thru mcdonalds drive thru which was on the right side so that was new. then he went to drive me home but i wasnt really sure where i lived cause we were coming from a different direction and the way u drive is diff than the way you walk it (plus i suck at directions). sarah (whos only been to our house once) had a better idea of how to get me home than i did. craig was like “james, say something mean to alison for me”. craig ended up having like a good 75 peeps show up and the money he made covered his expenses for all 4 weeks in feb so every sat there after will be pure profit for him. not a bad way of makin a living 🙂 the pix from that night are in the misc section.

my bday…and it snowed

trying to catch up on old entries here…

my actual bday was on weds (the 26th). that night after work i went out with kristie, emily, laura, laura, and rod. we met at leicester tube station, and while they were getting money out of the cash point, i went upstairs to use my cell (no signal in the tubes), and i noticed it was slightly raining so i went to put my hat on. i looked up into the street light and realised…thats not rain, thats snow!!!! it was lightly snowing on my bday!!! it only lasted like ten mins while we were walking around leicester square, but i just couldnt believe it finally snowed and on my bday!!! so we were going to go to the walkabout, but it was australia day (i think thats like their 4th of july) and thats an australian bar, so there was a *huge* line to get in. instead, we went to this pub in leicester square called Waxys or something like that. it was a really great pub cause it actually played music (and music i like too!) and it had tons of seating in all kindsa tucked away areas. we were all able to sit around a table and just hang out which was really great.

then on friday after work was my party. id reserved a table at the Hard Rock Cafe (the very first, original, Hard Rock Cafe) and after work we (me, emily, ben, mark, darren, mayoor, martin, shane, james, craig, sarah, and yvey) went to dinner. i absolutely loved it!! they had big screen tvs playing music videos like linkin park and i got to eat a real american cooked burger (yum!!). emily had brought a bottle of vodka with her in her purse so the two of us snuck in the bathroom and did vodka shots (so cheesey i know, but its free!). after dinner, my work friends stayed behind to have dessert and the rest of us went on to the walkabout where inge and her friends were (it was inges bday that day too). most people didnt go on to walkabout, so it was just me, emily, martin, shane, mayoor, james, and canadian laura met us there. i think i had like 5 double jack and cokes and like 3 shots and by the time we went to catch the last train home, the guys were practically dragging me. definitely a top 5 night.

Cafe de Paris

craig’s gf sarah was having a work party at this club in leicester square, Cafe de Paris, thats sposed to be really ritzy and posh and only people on the guest list can get in. so ed (the managing director of our company) said he was a member of this club and he could get us in on the guest list. so craig and james and i were sposed to go, but craig bailed on us so just james and i went. when we first got there and were getting drinks it was kinda empty and i noticed that there were a lot of guys there. then in walks these two transvestites dressed up like stewardesses and pushing little suitcases, along with a *ton* of gay guys. they stopped and started posing for a camera. i also at this time noticed a guy walking around wearing just a towel wrapped around his waste which i thought was really weird since this was sposed to be a nice, dress-up type place. then we notice that downstairs on the dance floor there are actually several people wandering around in swim suits and a souple of them are putting up a volleyball net. i was like “uhh james, i think this is a gay bar”. apparently it was some gay-night event that some company plans and hosts at various clubs. they had hired these people to run around in speedos (despite the fact that these were muscular guys in speedos, they were too gay for me to even be turned on) and set up this whole beach scene. there were guys doing pushups and rubbing oil on themselves and some were playing volleyball. james and i found sarah and her workmates and sat down with them for a front row show. later on, the stewardesses came down and got up on this little stage and did a strip show down to bikinis and when they were done they started playing limbo. that was wrong on so many levels, but the whole thing was sooo weird and sooo hilarious.

Pancake Day

So theres a holiday in England called Pancake Day. Its actually called Shro Tuesday (or something like that), and its the Tues before Lent starts or something. only in england “pancake” actually means a crepe. american pancakes are griddle cakes or something. so kristie mayoor and i went to guys’ house in wanstead and they made a ton of crepes for everybody and had all kindsa toppings on them. they put ham and shredded cheese inside sorta like an omelette. i had mine with choc sauce and toffee sauce. afterwards we played articulate. the girls kicked their butts 😀

anything that sparkles and shines

pretty tame weekend. we were sposed to go to scotland, but i didnt really feel up to it. instead on saturday K and I got our hair done. then i went by oxford circus and picked up 3 new eye shadows. i love the ones they have at Top Shop cause they shimmer, and you know how i am about anything that sparkles and shines 😛 then sat night K and i went out to loughton (bout 20 mins further east of us in zone 6) to this bar where craig had set up a DJ to play. it was fun for a nice low-key weekend. today we went to bfast at Micks and then rented some girly movies. in one part of raising helen, the guy brings helen some ice cream and kristie and i were both “ohhhh”. so we ran (literally) to the store to go buy some ben and jerrys.

12 More Days!!!!

This is so exciting!!! I love my birthday! I’m not so excited about becoming 24. That seems really old and grown up. I dunno if I’m ready for old and grown up. I’m still single and I don’t have a career started yet. Hmmm….Anyways! A few whole days to celebrate my coming into the world…What else could anyone ask for? It is a great day to celebrate. I mean it’s the day the world was blessed with my presence….What a lucky place!
