if u give an insomniac a tree

abeechner: i always thought an insomniac meant people that never slept and were up all night
which is true, but it doesnt have to be that extreme to have insomnia
By definition, insomnia is “difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep, or both”
Onset insomnia – difficulty falling asleep at the beginning of the night, often associated with anxiety disorders.
so i read this thing about how to relax and go to sleep
it said to breath in for a count of 3 and out for a count of 10 (i can only get to 5 til im out of breath) and picture a symbol, liek a tree
so i tried that last night and thought of a tree…
(now we move into the realm of if you give a mouse a cookie)
so i started thinknig of xmas trees
and thought how cool it would be to have a tree in every room
and started mentally decorating different trees
green: hahahaha
abeechner: and then started mentally organizing and storing ornaments by tree for attic storage during the year and how each kid could put together and decorate one tree
green: omg
abeechner: so then i started thinking about the kids
and their xmas lists
and how i should save all their santa letters
and then i started designing a scrapbook
for their santa letters
green: hmm none of this sounds much like sleeping
abeechner: ALL BECAUSE I WAS SUPPOSED TO PICTURE A F-ING TREE

  1. I do that too! Not about trees, but about the starting with something simple and then thinking of a whole list of stuff to do. Jake doesn’t get it, he’s just like “How did you go from tree to santa letters?” He mostly just thinks i’m crazy.

My mom has insomnia really bad and i just got her a book that’s supposed to help you sleep.
